hanging by a thread

My origin piece was a narrative essay written for ENGLISH 325 and The Michigan Daily. In this piece, I discuss the act of eyebrow threading in South Asian cultures and my experiences navigating it. I also discuss beauty standards -- how they go beyond simply having nice eyebrows -- and how I've learned to accept myself for who I am.

I chose this piece because I wanted to zoom out of the specific storytelling present in this piece and apply aspects of it to new mediums that could convey my thoughts in different ways, perhaps more explicitly or creatively.
